Therapy

Recovering from a disabling injury or illness can be a long and daunting process. In our outpatient rehabilitation program, we serve all ages, from children to seniors, with our focus always on helping individuals return to their prior roles and activities of daily life. With skilled and experienced clinicians, including physical, occupational, and speech therapists, we strive to improve people’s ability to function and care for themselves again. The Spring Valley Therapy team is committed to providing a personal caring atmosphere where residents and outpatients receive individualized treatment programs to meet their specific needs and goals.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists work with patients to help decrease pain and improve strength, endurance, balance, and range of motion. The techniques they teach can be incorporated at home for continued improvement.

Physical Therapy treatments include, but are not limited to:

  • Athletic and sports rehabilitation
  • Strength training and coordination
  • Range of motion therapy
  • Pain management
  • Balance training
  • Lymphedema management
  • Post-surgery orthopedic rehabilitation

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists work with patients to improve their strength, coordination and fine motor activities. This allows patients to return to their maximum level of functional ability.

Occupational Therapy treatments include, but are not limited to:

  • Motor control development
  • Energy conservation training
  • Safety training
  • Cognitive training
  • Lymphedema management
  • Kinesio taping
  • Adaptive dressing techniques, grooming, bathing and home management skills
  • Upper body strengthening and coordination
  • Shoulder injury/surgery rehabilitation

Speech Therapy

For individuals with communication or swallowing disorders, our speech therapists help facilitate regaining function.

Speech Therapy treatments include, but are not limited to:

  • Speech-Language expression and comprehension
  • Oral motor skills
  • Strategies for safe eating
